Slovenia is small and easy to shoot in. Mountains, lakes, a short stretch of Adriatic coast and old towns sit within a short drive of each other. Flying a full hair and makeup team in is expensive, and most visiting crews don't need to. What they need is one local artist who works to international standards, reads a call sheet and speaks the crew's language. This guide explains how to find that person and what she needs from you.

What to look for in a local artist
Set work, runway and editorial, and events each have their own rhythm. Ask what she's done that's closest to your job.
On smaller shoots one person covering both saves a crew position. Izidora does both.
To your location, hotel or base camp, with her own kit and professional lights.
For bigger casts or groups she brings in assistants and other makeup artists she already works with.
English for the crew, Slovenian for local talent, venues and location managers.
Rates for non-wedding work are quoted on request. A good brief gets you an accurate number in one reply.

Who writes this
Izidora, hair and makeup artist
Izidora grew up in Belgrade, trained in music and ballet as a child, and first fell for makeup backstage, watching performers get ready. At twenty-one she moved abroad and eventually settled in Slovenia, where she built her career from scratch.
She founded her own makeup business in 2019. Since 2023 her work has taken her to the Cannes Film Festival, where she has kept returning, and to Paris, Milan and Ljubljana Fashion Weeks. Between those dates she works in Slovenia.
How booking works
- You send a brief. Dates, location, number of people, type of job, and whether you need hair.
- You get a quote. Rates are on request, because one guest before a gala and a three-day shoot with a cast of ten are very different jobs.
- You agree the looks. References, moodboard, outfit photos, and any call sheet or schedule.
- She arrives before talent. Kit, lights and station set up, ready for the first person in the chair.
- Touch-ups if you need them. She can stay on set or on site all day, or change the look for the evening.
