Slovenia packs a lot into a small map. Most of the country, from the Alps to the coast, is within roughly two hours by car from Ljubljana. That makes it easy to shoot two very different backdrops in one day. It also means your hair and makeup has to travel well, and cope with conditions that change between morning and evening.
What the location does to hair and makeup
| Location | Plan for |
|---|---|
| Ljubljana old town | Streets get busier as the day goes on, so early calls help. Shade in narrow streets, open light by the river. |
| Lakes | Reflected light from the water, damp air, and soft light at the start and end of the day. |
| Julian Alps | Wind, cold and fast weather changes, even in summer. Little shelter for touch-ups. |
| Coast | Heat, sun and salt air. Shine control and hair that won't drop in the humidity. |
Loose hair looks great for one frame and wild for the next. Plan a style that moves but can be reset in a minute.
Cold brings red noses and cheeks, and dry lips. Skin prep and a few minutes inside the car between setups help.
Mid-day sun shows shine and sweat. Blotting, not more powder, keeps the skin looking like skin.
Have a plan B for hair. And a large umbrella for the person in the chair.
Sunrise in the mountains means hair and makeup in the dark. Say so in your first message.
Where to get ready
The calmest setup is a hotel room or apartment near the first location, with a table, a chair and a power outlet. Izidora brings professional lights, so the room doesn't need good daylight. If you're starting outdoors, a van or car works for touch-ups between setups. Tell her in advance, so she packs a lighter, portable kit.
Example: sunrise in the Alps, sunset at a lake
- 04:00Hair and makeup at the hotel, under the artist's lights.
- 05:00Drive to the first location. Hair protected, lips added on arrival.
- SunriseFirst setup. The artist stays close for wind and cold.
- Late morningBreak in the shade. Skin refreshed, hair reset or changed.
- AfternoonTravel and rest. A good moment for a second look.
- SunsetLake setup, with touch-ups between frames until the light goes.
These times are an example. Sunrise and sunset move a lot through the year, so build your schedule from the real times for your date.

Touch-up kit checklist for the day
- Blotting papers and a small powder for the talent's pocket.
- The exact lip product used, for quick fixes between frames.
- Hair pins, a small brush and hairspray.
- A warm layer to wear over the outfit between setups.
- Water and snacks. Hungry, cold talent shows on camera.
FAQ
Will you travel to the location with us?
Yes. The artist comes to your location. Travel time and very early starts are part of the quote, so give the exact places in your brief.
Can one artist handle hair and makeup outdoors?
For one or two people, yes. For a bigger cast on a tight light window, a second artist or an assistant keeps you on schedule.
Do you know the locations?
Izidora lives and works in Slovenia, and Slovenian helps with venues and location contacts. The locations themselves are your production's choice. Just tell her where you'll be.
